Detailed Product Description

PROCESS:

Raw, clean and dry Areca Leaf Sheaths are soaked in water for three hours. 

The wet palm leaves are cleaned thoroughly using a brush. 

The leaves are so arranged as to drain the water for half-an-hour. 

These leaves are ready for being pressed in the moulds according to the demand-requirements. 

At the time of setting the soaked and cleaned leaves for draining, the machines are to be switched on. This is because the mould is to have reached a certain temperature before it can shape the leaf properly. 

The time for an Arecanut palm leaf to remain under heat in a mould depends on the thickness of the leaf, the shape or dimensions of the plate being made etc. 

These plates are then packed as per customer requirements and kept safely. 

These packed plates can be used confidently even after six months. 

Shrink packing and Labelling/Stickering are optional.

CERTIFICATION

The products are completely hygenic and safe and the following tests can be done by the importer/buyer.

Health & Safety Testing

Anaerobic Plate Count - APC35C
Test: Coliform and Yeast/Mold testing
Explanation: The products are sanitary for immediate use out of the package.

PhytoSanitation
Test: Before shipping, the container is fumigated and tested for safety. To be exported, the test must be passed.
Explanation: Plant material is safe for contact with food.

ASTM D-6400 

Explanation: Testing for heavy metals is for both human and environmental concern. The tests will show that it is well below the acceptable level.

Compostability Testing:

ASTM D-6866
Test: Biological material testing
Explanation: The products are completely natural. There are no additives, plastics, waxes or glues in the products.

ASTM D-6868 and ASTM D-6400
Test: Speed and ability to be composted.
Explanation: The standard for this test is 60% in 90 days. Areca leaf products will be composted 150 % above the standard in 2/3 the time.

PACKING

The Plates and Bowls are Shrink Packed as 25 pieces per Shrink with one Silica Gel packet in each Shrink pack. They are then packed in Carton boxes as per customer requirements. Before packing, the plates are segregated for quality and the edges are neatly trimmed.
